#WriteFree365 - Day 34 - Changes

Image
How foolish I feel How sad the fact That every time it seems to be right We take two steps back You were the dream we had hoped for The love the proved true The spirit and mind coming together To create a feeling so new We had a shared connection Something I had always dreamed of You were the fulfilled promise of a wish made long ago But it seems some wishes can never be granted And some promises are broken or never made All that glitters isn't gold You aren't the angle I once new The Knight who would change my world Wishful thinking breaks another heart And the changes tell the truth...

#WriteFree365 – Day 2 Frustration

Image
I looked out the window today and wasn't surprised by what greeted me A view of destruction covered by a dusting of hope like Febreze over a well used gym Here we see the constant battle between being right and doing right Those with power choosing carefully which way the pendulum swings Some are wooed by the promise of a better tomorrow Some cling to delusions of the past Some stand firm on "the tradition" The rest of us know the truth The constant nagging of the voice of reason Sucking you in and spitting you out That voice in your head will never stop telling you what right Your choice if you chose to believe it Take off the glasses and see whats out the window Open you mind and truly understand whats going on See them wag the dog See them misdirect See them shame you into forgetting your grievance And fight back...

#WriteFree365 – Day 1: That Pleases me

Image
What's the answer baby? When you hear me call. When you see my body shiver, What's your first reaction? Where does your mind go, When you look into my eyes? I think I know... I think I know Do you feel my through my words? Are you linked to my aura? Are you scared of this connection...or Do you want to make it better? What I'm saying is this is real And there is no denying I think you know... I think you know The answer better be yes When I open up my heart What's here for your disposal is How I will cater to your needs Who else will love you Where you can be your precious self Why worry baby This pleases me...

A few things that I've noticed about Super Bowl 48

Image
1. Most of the people go to the Superbowl are international. ( considering the price of the Superbowl this make sense only people who have the means to travel pay for a hotel and the cost of the game would be able to enjoy the experience. Unless you been saving up for the Super Bowl have free passes or are extremely wealthy would you be able to attend this event. 2. Seahawks fans are very annoying. While I'm excited that they made it to the Superbowl and I kind of want them to win its hard for me to root for them because they are extremely annoying. The only reason I feel uneasy about rooting for the Broncos, is because of what they did to my Patriots. At the end of the day I just hope it's a really good game. 3. Some of the media folks are really elitist. I'm happy that you got your media pass I'm excited that you get to cover some of the game from different aspects that doesn't make you better than me. I'm staying at the same hotel you are and I would lik

Black History Month

Image
Today, February 1, marks the start of Black History Month we can use this as an opportunity to recognize, highlight and celebrate African/African American achievements and contributions to society In 1926, historian Carter G. Woodson developed an annual week-long celebration in February as a way to commemorate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday and Frederick Douglass’ birthday. Fifty years later, as part of the United States’ bicentennial celebration, the United States government recognized that the week-long celebration had transitioned into "Black History Month.” #BHM2014       #BlackHistoryMonth       #EveryonesHistory   What are your thoughts on today's google doodle? Slavery is a part of American history . It is a part of black history. There are those who do not want to acknowledge slavery, who see it looking back on the past in a negative light. We cannot pretend it did not happen we cannot pretend that it's not part of what makes us the way we are today. I
